Chelsea offered a “SPECIAL” striker and a £50 million forward, as Pochettino Seeks January Attacker

Pochettino

Although the January transfer window hasn’t started yet, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is eager for the team to add even more players in the upcoming days and weeks.

HITC Football is aware that Chelsea is considering making a temporary addition for the remainder of the season by looking at players in the Saudi Pro League.

Due to Christopher Nkunku’s injury, Mauricio Pochettino has asked Chelsea officials to see what options are available.

Chelsea considering striker options in the Saudi Pro League for January

Chelsea’s interest in Saudi Arabia makes sense considering the partnership between the league’s four largest clubs, PIF and Clearlake, the club’s owners.

Todd Boehly met with Al-Hilal president Fahd bin Nafel in Saudi Arabia during the summer.

Though there aren’t many options this month. HITC Football thinks Chelsea is considering offers for Roberto Firmino and Aleksandar Mitrovic. Both are both being pursued by Premier League teams.

HITC has been informed by Saudi-based sources who are aware of the circumstances. It is “very unlikely” that any move for some of the league’s biggest names would be approved.

Pochettino’s team offered Firmino and Mitrovic as short-term options

Even though Chelsea has won three straight league games, manager Mauricio Pochettino is aware of his team’s current shortcomings.

They placed a great deal of faith in Christopher Nkunku to lead them in goals this season. Following his high-profile transfer from RB Leipzig.

But mainly because of injury, he hasn’t been able to build on his incredible 2021/22 season in which he contributed 33 goals for the Bundesliga.

It makes sense that Chelsea wants to get stronger. But there are other options to take into account given how much they have already spent. And their policy of only wanting to sign the best young players, who may not be prepared to step up and score regularly in the Premier League.

Thus, it makes sense that Mitrovic and Firmino. Who have both demonstrate success in England’s top division, have been extend an offer to Chelsea.

Another question is if, in the unlikely event that a move could be negotiated, they would still be the right decision.

Pochettino might be better off being patient and working with the players he’s currently got. However, that would also require the club to be patient with him. And give him another summer transfer window to mould his squad.
