Journalist gives update about Fofana injury and possible return

Pochettino

Journalist Nathan Gissing posted on his Twitter handle that Fofana is expected to return from injury in around 10 days.

The French defender was forced off in the second half due to a hamstring injury against Everton. Chelsea drew the match 2:2 at Stanford Bridge. Fofana has recently recovered from an injury and made a remarkable comeback for Chelsea. The Former Leicester man helped the Blues to get back to their winning ways.

Thiago Silva is also currently injured as his age is becoming a crucial factor and he will soon pack his boots off. However, he already had a sensational career in AC Milan and PSG.

Fofana greatly took the role of the leader in the defense in every game since his return. But he again caught up with an injury over the weekend. His attacking runs from the back were crucial in Chelsea’s recent success alongside Reece James.

GISSING GIVES UPDATE ON TWITTER ABOUT FOFANA

Gissing wrote on his Twitter account that he might return to action before the international break. He said:-

“Wesley Fofana has withdrawn from the France squad due to a hamstring injury suffered against Everton, as @lequipe reported. Told Fofana is expected to be out for around ten days.”

After Fofana’s substitution, Chelsea’s defence was completely exposed. The Blues conceded an equalizer as Ellis Simms bullied his way past Kalidou Koulibaly to score the goal.

Chelsea will face Real Madrid in the Champions League Quarter Finals and supporters will expect to see both Fofana and Silva fit for that fixture in April. The Champions League is the only silverware Chelsea can win this season and qualify for European football next season.

Fofana also has all the attributes to become club captain in the future. His defensive qualities and presence on the pitch can be termed as “exemplary”.
