LIVERPOOL

Transfer news, player updates and more

A massive deal could take place in the upcoming summer window. After the announcement of Jurgen Klopp’s departure, Liverpool’s captain, Virgil Van Dijk, dropped a strong hint of making an exit. Van Dijk gave a hint of stalling a new contract with the club.

The Dutchman’s current deal expires in 2026. Signing a new contract with the Dutch defender is a top priority assignment for the new sporting director, Richard Hughes. Van Dijk is a player Liverpool will surely want to keep.

The defender has been terrific throughout the season with his ability and skills. Moreover, he also led the Reds to a Carabao Cup win against Chelsea with a stunning goal in extra time. Van Dijk is Liverpool’s key-player, and they will not want to let go of him. Furthermore, with the entry of Michael Edwards as Liverpool director, the club will hope Van Dijk stays.

Deal for Bruno Guimaraes is brewing

The Newcastle midfielder, Bruno Guimaraes is gaining interest from Real Madrid. Newcastle will have to make a sacrifice and sell their star players to not break the Premier League’s spending rules. The Brazilian international will be happy to move to Madrid as he desires to play in the Champions League. However, he is having a wonderful time with the Magpies. Moreover, Guimaraes’ performance was applauded by Pep Guardiola, despite Newcastle’s defeat against Manchester City in the FA Cup quarter finals.

The Man City boss said,

“He is an exceptional midfielder, aggressive, has composure on the ball, aggressive in set pieces. He is truly a very complete midfielder, ever since he played for Lyon. He is at a club that wants to grow. I am sure he is part of their project for the coming years.”

Although Guimaraes said that he is happy at Newcastle he is unsure about his future at the club. Moreover, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are potential suitors for the midfielder.
