N’Golo Kante is reportedly re-signing a contract with Chelsea

N’Golo Kante is closing in on signing a new deal with Chelsea. Kante’s contract with Chelsea was supposed to end by the end of the season. Fabrizio Romano have reported that the transfer saga of N’Golo Kante had taken a U-turn. The French midfielder is now getting closer to signing a new contract with the Blues. However, this news came as a huge blow to Barcelona, who were keen to sign the player. N’Golo Kante had been one of the unluckiest players this year. He even had to miss the World Cup due to his injury. He had played a pivotal part for the French side in the last World Cup. Since joining Chelsea he have made a name for himself and have been an important player for the Blues. He have since then won every trophy with Chelsea.

N’Golo Kante to sign a new deal with Chelsea

Kante have been unfortunate with injuries for the last few seasons. He even missed the Qatar World Cup due to an injury. He was out of the pitch for a long time this season. This was also one of the reasons why there was doubt about him signing a new contract with Chelsea. But now reports claim that the player is close to signing a new contract with them. Fabrizio Romano had claimed,

“N’Golo Kante’s priority has always been Chelsea and the Premier League. Kante is now in talks with Chelsea on different terms, this is why the situation is now open again. A few months ago it looked really complicated, but the situation is different now.”

He further continued,

“Barcelona and Al Nassr have never reached any agreement with Kante, just normal interest but it’s now an open situation.”

Barcelona is most likely to depart with Sergio Busquets in the summer transfer window. They will now be keen to sign a new midfielder by the end of this season. N’Golo Kante had gained interest from the Catalan team. This news would come as a shock for the club. They will probably be looking for other alternatives for Kante at the end of this season.
