Pep Guardiola held talks with owner Sheikh Mansour in Abu Dhabi

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had major talks with Sheikh Mansour after the conclusion of treble-winning season. Pep becomes the first Manchester City manager to complete the treble. Moreover, he imitates the success of Manchester United in 1999 completing the treble, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and the Champions League.

Though, the historic treble season marked the end of Gundogan, Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte. The three left the Etihad Stadium in this summer window. However, City has signed Kovacic, Jeremy Doku, Gvardiol and Matheus Nunes this summer as well. The Sky Blues are looking confident to retain their league title as well as the Champions League.

Pep and Co. held talks with Sheikh Mansour at Abu Dhabi

The management at Etihad is keen to maintain their glory this season as well. Owing to this, the chiefs have held a meeting with Sheikh Mansour at Abu Dhabi. The Daily Mail reports that Pep Guardiola, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Begiristain and Ferran Soriano all met with owner Sheikh Mansour. They discussed how Manchester City could replicate their domestic success within Europe.

Manchester City have already won the UEFA Super Cup and will compete in the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia later this year. Furthermore, Manchester City became only the 22nd team to lift the Champions League. However, Real Madrid are record 14-time champions and their rivals Liverpool, have lifted the Champions League seven times. The Cityzens may also be eyeing Manchester United’s tally of three Champions League’s in the medium-term, as Pep Guardiola seeks sustained success in east Manchester.
