Pundit and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has been very impressed by Man City under Pep Guardiola. City look absolutely breathtaking and surely are the best team in the world right now. The Current English and European champions have also rised to the no.1 spot in UEFA’s club rankings. The main reason for all these achievements their genius manager, Pep Guardiola.

Tipped not to succeed due to his playing style when he first came to England, Guardiola has proved everyone wrong. The Spanish has now established himself as one of the greatest managers ever, because of his spectacular managerial career. Winning the treble with City last season, has led to many fans calling him as the ‘G.O.A.T‘ manager. With that achievement, Pep has now become the only manager in the history of the game to win two trebles. Fans have started comparing him with Sir Alex Ferguson now. A lot of people now, think that Pep is better than Ferguson because of his versatility and innovative ability.

In last 7 years with Man City, Pep Guardiola has tried out multiple systems and playing styles with his team. Change in formations, different player instructions and flexible tactical setup has all been an important part of Pep’s success. His knowledge and understanding of the game makes him the best in the world. Although he has spent a lot of money in transfers, undoubtedly he has created one of the strongest teams, who look like the favourites for every competition that they play in this season.

Rio Ferdinand is amazed by Pep Guardiola

In a recent interview with Kick Game, Rio spoke about Pep again. During the interview, Ferdinand was asked about the new debate, the one between Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson. Obviously Rio chose his former boss, Sir Alex as the greatest manager ever but he spoke about Pep’s greatness. Ferdinand talked about how he feels the City boss has ‘transformed‘ football.

Ferdinand has always admired the Catalan manager. About 8 years ago, Rio said in an interview that his former club, Manchester United should try and sign Pep Guardiola as their new manager. He was also one of the few experts who believed that Pep will take Man City to greater heights, when he first arrived in the Premier League. Even before the Champions League Final, Rio said that Pep doesn’t need need to win a UCL title with City to be regarded as an all-time great.
