Rio Ferdinand is unhappy with what he’s been hearing about Bruno Fernandes this season

Manchester United lost to Arsenal with a 1-0 score line on Sunday. The absence of Bruno Fernandes was felt on the field as he was out due to an injury. Following the game, Rio Ferdinand expressed his disappointment regarding what people were saying about Bruno. The Portuguese midfielder was absent for Manchester United’s last two games due to an injury struggle. The Red Devils did not score in both of these games, losing 4-0 to Crystal Palace and 1-0 to Arsenal. Therefore, it shows how impactful Bruno Fernandes is to the team.

While speaking about the hate surrounding Bruno, Rio Ferdinand said,

“So all these people who keep saying, ‘yeah but he’s not this, he’s not that’, the guy creates chances, score goals, but more importantly, creates chances for others, and makes other players look better. When he hasn’t played, every other attacking player has looked worse off.”

Ferdinand further explained,

“The moment he plays, they all look better because he’s getting in positions to score goals and have chances at goal. And it really winds me up massively when I hear people saying he’s rubbish, or he’s not or he’s not that.”

Bruno Fernandes is a significant player for Manchester United

The Portuguese midfielder missed three Premier League games this season and Manchester United failed to score in all three. The Red Devils’ attack was also blunt against Arsenal’s defense. David Raya hardly had much to do in the 90 minutes of the game. This shows that Bruno Fernandes is an important game-maker for United. The Portuguese Magnifico not only scores goals but also creates chances for his attackers. Although his form hasn’t been perfect, he has been important this campaign. Bruno Fernandes scored 7 goals in seven Premier League games before his injury. If Bruno returns for the game against Newcastle, it will be positive for the squad.
