However, due to being away from the family during the pandemic, Henry stepped down from his position. Thierry Henry is open to coaching the USMNT

Henry have hinted that he is open to the idea of being the head coach of the USMNT. Thierry Henry commented when asked about it. He confessed,

“Would I put my name in the hat? First and foremost, that’s a tricky one to talk about.”

Henry further continued,

“Do I know the (American) players? Yeah, I know the players. Do I know the league? Yeah, I know the league. It’s a different ballgame to talk about it now like that, but would I want to be a manager at any level? Yes, of course, that’s something I would want to do. But to go back to the U.S. national team and the U.S. in general, what’s the plan? What’s the philosophy? What do you want to be?”

This interest from Thierry Henry has divided opinions among the supporters.

But they still could be open to the idea if he brings an exciting Arsenal player with him.  Folarin Balogun is one of the most exciting players in Europe as of now. The player is keeping an open mind regarding his international future. Therefore a switch to the US is still on the cards. If Thierry Henry manages to bring the player with him, he can very well win over the supporters.
