Moreover, according to sources, Emery is the best-paid manager in Villa history. Aston Villa are currently fourth on the Premier League table and could make it to the UEFA Champions League next season. This will be Villa’s first time in the Champions League. Reports state that the club have ‘huge plans’ to build the club in the next five years. Several big signings could take place in the upcoming transfer window.
Changes are set to take place under Unai Emery at Villa Park this summer
Unai Emery got an offer from Bayern Munich, however, he rejected their offer and chose to stay at Villa Park. Aston Villa have to deal with Financial Fair Play Rules which is hampering their ability to spend. However, once that is done, a few massive signings could take place. Moreover, if Aston Villa manages to defeat Liverpool next game, they will secure their top-four spot. The Villans are also in the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League. They will play the second leg against Olympiacos at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
While speaking about the club’s performance, Unai Emery said,
“We have enjoyed getting here. To win a trophy in Europe is very difficult. To get here you have to be consistent, but if we don’t win tomorrow, the process is clear. Maybe we could be a favourite before the first leg, but they show with us their power and how they want to be a contender and now they are favourite. I will prepare us to come back, but our process does not change.”
The Villa boss further added,
“In the Premier League, we are having a fantastic season. We have to enjoy both competitions. We have to be proud of our work.”
This season was nothing less than wonderful for Unai Emery’s side and the Villa fan should be excited for what’s to come in the future.
