Former Liverpool legend Didi Hamann claims that Japanese midfielder Wataru Endo will suprise many people at Liverpool this season.
Posted on his Twitter/X Account, Hamann claims that Endo will perform at Anfield after impressing everyone at VfB Stuttgart. He wrote:-
“I think Endo will surprise a few people. Technically very gifted and disciplined.
“Think he’s made for that role, kept a struggling side together in the last few seasons. He’ll also be better with more talent around him.”
Fabrizio Romano broke the news last night that Liverpool have agreed to sign Wataru Endo for a fee of £17 million. The 30-year-old is brought to replace Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in the squad.
Endo’s leadership qualities and work-rate was admired at Germany. Reds will be excited with his addition into the squad this season.
Liverpool were looking for defensive midfielder who will do all the dirty work in middle of the pitch. Hence, Endo has been a perfect signing for the Mersyside club this summer.
His former teammate Mario Gomez is huge fan of his attitude in the field. He said :-
“I love Wataru, to be honest.” It was he who had pushed for the player’s inclusion when both found themselves out of the team.
“I was always telling him just to keep calm, keep doing what he was doing because he did amazing in training.” So amazing, in fact, that it became a running theme of the sessions than Gomez would pair up with Endo.”
