17-year-old trained with first team ahead of Newcastle clash

17-year-old youngster Trent Kone-Doherty trained with Liverpool’s first team yesterday at Kirkby ahead of Newcastle United clash.

The teenager was bought from Irish outfit Derry City last summer. Since then he has caught attention in underage tournaments for the Mersyside club last season.

With his display for the U-18s and U-21s games, Kone-Doherty has scored two goals and provided one assist. With his Irish compatriot Ben Doak, both want to make a name for themselves at the highest level.

Manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed to journalist Keifer MacDonald via Twitter, that the 17-year-old has trained with the first-tean on Tuesday. His reports claim :-

“Tyler Morton was involved in first-team training at the AXA this afternoon, having not played since April due to a metatarsal injury.

“Trent Kone-Doherty, 17, also trained with the seniors after an impressive start to the season with the U18s & U21s.

Ever since his arrival last summer, Kone-Doherty looked a future star of Reds. Chairman of his former clubs described him as a “flying machine”as he’s very quick and skillful.

Kone-Doherty has joined the team as time as Ben Doak. Hence people compare both the youngsters at Liverpool.

However, the 17-year-old is under Klopp’s radar and if he keeps impressing club officials, Kone-Doherty will promoted to the first team soon.

With Liverpool participating in different competation, Kone-Doherty will like to get ready for new campaign to unfold. Everybody should keep an eye on the gem who is impressing everyone at youth levels.

Kone-Doherty holds all the attributes to become successful player for Liverpool in future.
