Erik Ten Hag’s job at Manchester United is secure until the end of this season

Manchester United

Despite the chaos surrounding Erik Ten Hag after Manchester United’s game against Coventry, the manager will be there until the season ends. Manchester United threw away a 3-0 lead in the FA Cup semi-final. Coventry City made a comeback in the last twenty-five minutes of the game. Erik Ten Hag’s side were almost out of the FA Cup with Coventry scoring a fourth goal. However, the goal was disallowed for an offside. Ultimately, the Red Devils won 4-2 on penalties. Ten Hag received hatred from the media after defending his team and saying that they did a good job.

However, as a response to that, the United boss said,

“I would say it’s over-over-performing with all the problems we have had. Getting into the final is already a big achievement, but we are here for trophies. We have an opportunity to win a trophy and that is good. But we are not satisfied by being in the final, we want to win it. That is what we will go for and it’s our mentality.”

Additionally, United’s hope for a Champions League spot next season is nearly over. However, Ten Hag’s job is safe for now, especially after leading United to the FA Cup final.

Erik Ten Hag’s future is uncertain

Manchester United’s new minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will be overseeing all sporting decisions. Although there are no plans of getting rid of Ten Hag, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel are linked with the managerial role. Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season after losing the Bundesliga title. Moreover, he could be seen making a move to the Premier League. However, there are no heavy links to a managerial transfer yet.
