Tottenham considering a move for Postecoglou’s “Favourite” winger Jota

Tottenham Hotspurs are considering a move for Ange Postecoglou’s “Favourite” Ittihad winger Jota worth of €25million. Jota can reunite with Postecoglou just months after leaving Celtic.

After Harry Kane’s move to Bayern, Tottenham may go for a versatile forward rather than a direct Kane replacement. Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson is the top target but a deal for the Welsh attacker won’t be easy. Tottenham need to have alternative targets in mind just in case they can’t land Johnson.

Keeping this in mind, Hotspurs could for a player who knows Ange Postecoglou very well. Owing to this, a potential loan move for Jota can be made feasible. The former Celtic winger surprisingly joined Al Ittihad this summer for €25million. There have been rumours of a loan move to Tottenham to allow Al Ittihad pave way for the signing of Liverpool winger Mohammad Salah.

Jota loved playing under Postecoglou at Celtic

Jota joined Celtic on a loan from Benfica in 2021, the summer in which Postecoglou took the charge of Scottish club. The Portuguese bagged a total of 28 goals and 26 assists in a total of 83games under Postecoglou. Consequently, his loan move turned into a permanent transfer.

Jota also raved about Postecoglou’s style of play and called his approach “tremendous” in quotes published by Celts are Here. The quotes also highlighted Jota confronting that playing under a manager like Ange Postecoglou was ‘really important ‘ to him as he also grew up playing with a similar approach to football.

Tottenham are looking for a potential “reunion” of Jota with his former manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Although, leaving Saudi Arabia this early after arriving still feels an unlike move for Jota, but even if a loan move is a fair possibility, Jota and Hotspurs will surely be right in the mix.
