Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United may look to sign £19m striker from Premier League rivals

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are pushing to sign £19m striker from Bournemouth. According to Ben Jacobs, both Newcastle and Hotspur are in a hunt for Dominic Solanke. However, the two clubs are expected to go for former Anfield man in summer of 2024. He also reports that Bournemouth manager wull refrain himself from selling his talisman in January. Though, he is highly rated by Eddie Howe who was interested to get him in winter only. Jacobs said,

Bournemouth sources deny Newcastle have made an enquiry for Dominic Solanke, a player Magpies boss Eddie Howe actually signed. But Solanke is absolutely on a list of potential summer targets for Newcastle. I don’t think anything is possible in January. Bournemouth will resist a sale, and Newcastle can’t afford to buy now.

I expect Newcastle, and potentially Spurs, to try for Solanke in the summer. The downside for Solanke at Newcastle is Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson both play through the middle in a 4-3-3.”

The two clubs can get the signature of Solanke in summer though, While Newcastle is funded by Saudi Public Investment Funds, Tottenham can end up in top four. The £19m striker will not be able to resist a move to North London or St James Park. The Cherries signed him from Liverpool back in 2019 under the management of Eddie Howe only. He has scored 12 goals and an assist in the 19 league games so far. There were links between him and Arsenal as well but is not active as of now. Denying a move to such clubs will not be possible for him and Bournemouth will also not be able to resist him from taking a huge break in his career.
