Aerial footage showcases Everton new stadium

Everton

Everton this week released an update on the construction of their new stadium. The construction of the new stadium should complete ahead of the 2024-25 season. The cost of this project is pegged at £500million. Moreover, the stadium will overlook the Bramley-Moore dock.

The stadium could hold a total of 53,000 spectators. The stadium situated on the banks of River Mersey is going to replace Goodison Park. Everton have been playing in the Goodison Park since 1892. This has been their home ground since then.

Aerial footage of the site shows the latest developments in construction. However, steelwork is continuing to come to the site as construction continues in full swing. The Toffees uploaded a video on their official Twitter handle with a caption: ‘Taking to the skies for your latest aerial update of the progress at our new stadium site!’ Flying and heart-eyed emojis followed the caption.

The footage has been captured by a drone shows staircases installed at the northeast corner of the stadium. Moreover, new offices are also installed to accommodate the increased personnel at the stadium.

What does Everton website read about the construction of the new stadium?

A detailed statement at the club’s site reads: “Our spectacular footage clearly shows the stairwells now installed in the northern corners. However, two concrete elevations are now at their full, 25m height, with the southern corners not far behind.”

The overall stadium height will eventually rise to around 47m when the steelwork and roofing eventually engulf them.

And stunning views taken from the River Mersey offer a cruise liner’s view of the development, notably looking at the western elevation, which will eventually house a stepped terrace facing the waterfront.”

Everton, luckily, missed relegation by a whisker. However, it was thought that the construction of a new stadium could seriously get hampered if Everton got relegated.
