Premier League legend Alan Shearer says he is not shocked with Manchester City wanting to sign £100m Evan Ferguson. Shearer reckons Man City interest in signing Brighton youngster Evan Ferguson in near future. Moreover, some reports also suggest City’s interest for the Irish international. The teenager has burst onto the scene in recent times for the Seagulls and seriously impressed.
It was claimed last week that Manchester City are already monitoring the situation for the Seagulls striker. Premier League all time top-scorer Shearer has also said that he can expect Evan in a City shirt. In his latest column for The Athletic, he sees a strong chance for the 18year-old to come to Etihad.
Shearer says, “It’s no surprise Manchester City are reportedly among the clubs watching him. It would be more of a surprise if they were not.”
“It wouldn’t be a shock if Ferguson was the next huge transfer out of Brighton, not that I wish it for them, but if he keeps progressing the way he is doing, it’s inevitable that something will happen not too far down the line — for the right price, of course.”
Reportedly, the price Brighton may ask is about £100m. It will be likeable to see how the season descends for the young striker.
Ferguson to City will be worth watching
It will be amazing to see how Ferguson will grow as a striker if his move to City is secured. Although, he is on a track to become an absolute stunning forward. Adding to this, he is also expected to give Brighton a huge sum of money. Even Man City are starting with two out-and-out strikers, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Despite this, City supporters will welcome this move.
