Amadou Onana on Arsenal’s transfer list this summer

Arsenal are currently monitoring Everton midfielder Amadou Onana and might sign him in the summer transfer, according to the Mirror.

As per Dutch Outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Onana is not very satisfied at the Goodison Park and wants to leave Everton this summer. The Mersyside club are currently struggling financially and would sell some of their players to raise cash to sustain the club.

The Belgian was first linked with Chelsea in January but Blues didn’t follow up their interest.

Amadou Onana joined Everton last summer from French outfit Lille where he featured in 42 games and made three goal contributions in all competitions. He impressed everyone in his debut campaign for the Toffees and helped them to escape relegation from Premier League last season.

Onana racked up 35 apperances for Everton last season. Sean Dyche’s men finished 17th in the Premier League table, just two ahead of 18th placed Leicester City.

He was also part of the Belgium National Team at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Roberto Martinez’ side got eliminated in the group stage of the competition.

Back in March, Onana claimed that he wants to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world. He said :-

“I see myself having had a lot of life experiences, which will have made me learn a lot about human beings in general, as well as about myself.

“I see myself, God willing, in one of the biggest clubs recognised worldwide.”

Mikel Arteta could be loosing both Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka this summer. Spaniard would need to bring atleast two midfielders and Onano is now emerging as a serious target alongside Declare Rice.
