Juventus are pushing to sign Alvaro Morata this summer. Morata is the ideal target to complete the new look front line for Juventus this summer. However, in case the deal doesn’t go through, Juventus have identified Anthony Martial as the next option. Chelsea‘s Timo Werner has also emerged as a target for the center-forward position.

Initially, Anthony Martial was sidelined as a surplus to Manchester United. However, seems like the arrival of Erik Ten Hag will breathe a new life to Anthony Martial’s future at Old Trafford. The French striker has impressed Erik Ten Hag a lot in the pre-season. He scored three times in four pre-season games. Martial took his chance and proves his mettle to Ten Hag this summer and was successful. Erik Ten Hag now considers him an integral part of the squad at Old Trafford.

Juventus interested in either Martial or Werner

The priority of Juventus this summer is signing Alvaro Morata. Alvaro Morata was on a loan with Juventus for two years from 2020 to 2022. Moreover, Morata’s contract with Juventus was embedded with a buy clause of £29.7. However, Juventus didn’t trigger it in the hopes of getting the player for even less money than that. Now, in case they are unsuccessful in signing Morata, Anthony Martial is their backup option. However, Ten Hag has made it clear, that Martial is not for sale.

Erik Ten Hag is confident that this will be Anthony Martial’s comeback season. Speaking to reporters on the Australia leg of the pre-season tour Ten Hag said:

“I’m sure Martial can come back even better. I think when he has the right focus and the right motivation and he works hard Martial will have production because he is a good player,”

Juventus are also interested in signing Chelsea forward Timo Werner this summer. Chelsea are also open to letting Werner leave this summer. However, his wages can complicate the deal for Juventus. Moreover, Newcastle United have also expressed their interest in signing the forward this summer.
