After their defeat Saturday, Arsenal new signing Jurrien Timber sends message to his ex-teammate Lisandro Martinez on Instagram.

Red Devils picked up 2:0 victory over Arsenal as both Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho put their name on the score sheet. Gunners were very sloppy on Saturday as Aaron Ramsdale and Gabriel Magalhaes gave away costly errors leading to goal.

Despite some shambolic performance, Jurrien Timber impressed once again at the right fullback position. The 22-year-old joined the North-London club from Ajax this month and he has already caught the eye of the supporters during Pre-season.

During the match against United, Timber encountered one of his old team-mate, Lisandro Martinez. The duo were playing together during their time in Netherlands.

However, Timber took the social media after the game to greet his old teammate after Saturday’s final in New Jersey. The duo were spotted on Timber’s Instagram story and the Dutch International wrote :-

“Good to see you brother,” ❤️

Martinez was nicknamed as “Butcher of Amsterdam” during his playing days at Ajax. Despite his short stature, he is a brilliant defender and has huge impact for Manchester United and Argentine National Team last time out.

He has already nailed down his place in Eric Ten Hag’s squad and is valued highly by United hierarchy. Martinez has formed a formidable CB partnership with Raphael Varane.

Arsenal will be wanting the same from Timber and produce a similar impact at the Emirates next season. Offcourse, it’s still earlier days for the young full-back but he has already shown quality on the field and looks well suited to Arteta’s style of play.

Ben White have to fight for his place as he will face stern competition from Timber next term.
