Arsenal announced the signing of Ajax defender Jurrien Timber but Declan Rice’s deal is still not completed due to some internal issues.

On Friday, Gunners officially announced the signing of Timber on a five year deal. Arsenal will pay an initial fee of £34 million for the 22-year-old.

After the announcement, Timber gave an interview and said :-

“They were always Arsenal fans, and I just loved seeing Arsenal play. They had big players, the way they played, the style. I just love the club.

“I had this from a young age, but my brothers kind of put that in me. Liked watching Robin van Persie of course, and Thierry Henry. They were my favourite players.”

However, Sky Sports reporter Solhekol has stated that West Ham still haven’t recieved some official documents to complete Rice’s deal. He said :-

“As of 4pm, our information was that West Ham had still not received the paperwork from Arsenal’s lawyers for them to sign and complete the deal.”

“We asked the question ‘Is that a concern? What is going on?’ We were told that ‘yes, it is a bit strange’. These things take a bit of time but they don’t usually take this long.

“The deal was agreed 10 days ago and it still hasn’t been completed. As of 4pm, they hadn’t received the paperwork but they still thought the deal was going to be completed today [Friday].

“One insider said ‘I’ve never seen anything like this saga before’. But our feeling is that the deal will still be completed.”
