Journalist Graeme Bailey claims that Arsenal are now favourites to sign Gremio midfielder Bitello in this summer transfer window.
However, after spending more than £200 million for likes Kai Havertz, Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice, Gunners now changes their focus on some modest deals this summer. Arsenal are now have been linked with Brazilian talent Bitello and as per reports, the deal is progressing in a right direction.
Speaking on the Talking Transfer Podcast, the deals is currently progressing at slow pace. Although, Gunners are confident that they can get this deal done asap.
Bailey states what he knows about Bitello right now :-
“Yeah that is progressing, it is going a bit slow. I think Arsenal have had other issues they’ve been dealing with. It’s not an expensive deal, Gremio are looking for a €10m (£7.5m) deal, it is a deal Edu has picked out, they really want the player, they like him a lot, they’ve done their homework on him. I think Arsenal believe they are favourites for him, but there is interest from elsewhere, Monaco, Porto, Zenit St Petersburg.
“They don’t have it all their own way, but Arsenal are confident of getting him in.”
Arsenal already signed some world-class players this summer, but every club supporters are now focussing on Bitello’s deal. It’s always exciting when any club signs a unknown youngster from Brazil.
Club director Edu Gasper have strong links with Brazil, as they signed Gabriel Martinelli few years ago. However, Bitello is a player everyone should keep an eye on.
