Arsenal can win the race for Celta Vigo star Gabriel Veiga, who has been linked with number of Premier League clubs this summer.
Veiga, whose stellar performances in the 2022/23 season caught attention of big clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain(PSG) and Barcelona. He has £40 million release clause in his contract, which makes him a intresting proposition, plus the factor that he is only 23-year-old.
Chelsea and Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs who are heavily linked with a move for Veiga this summer. The midfielder has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists in 36 league matches last season.
As per reports last month, Chelsea were looking at Veiga as a replacement for Mason Mount this summer. The England International joined rival club Manchester United for £55 million.
Liverpool were also keen on signing Veiga this summer, but they’ve signed Dominik Szoboszlai instead.
Now according to The Nacional, Arsenal could win the race to sign Veiga this summer. Gunners identifies him as the “final part of their jigsaw puzzle” next season.
However, Spanish Giants Real Madrid are also keen on signing him. Club President Florentino Perez has Veiga’s name written in red on the agenda, but this is not viable time.
Real have extended contracts for Toni Kroos, Dani Ceballos and Luka Modric, while adding the likes of Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler to their ranks. Their plan is to persuade Veiga to stay at Celta Vigo until the summer of 2024.
But as per rumours, Arsenal is looking destroy Real’s Masterplan and send their first proposal for Veiga in next few days. Mikel Arteta has become fan of his qualities. The Spaniard believes that he can become one of the best footballer in the Premier League in his position.
