Arsenal have agreed personal terms with forward Kai Havertz and are close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea, as per journalist David Ornstein.

Both the clubs are now working on the deal and as per reports, the deal will be worth around £65 million which include add-ons. Arsenal are ready to offer him a long-term contract worth a minimum of £210,000-per-week.

The Athletic Journalist David Ornstein stated that Arsenal reached an agreement with Chelsea over a transfer of Kai Havertz. He wrote on his report :-

“But personal terms are in place and, if all goes to plan, a medical will be scheduled ahead of the transfer being completed.

“Havertz has struggled to live up to his £71m price tag after moving to Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen. But he will always be remembered for his winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final.”

Medical will be scheduled ahead of a transfer completed, if everything goes according to plan.

Gunners initially tabled a £50 million bid for Havertz, but Chelsea immediately rejected it. Hence Arsenal returned with a improved bid, as manager Mikel Arteta sees the 24-year-old as top priority.

The versatility and work-rate of Havertz caught attention of the Arsenal boss and the forward also very eager to move to the Emirates. Chelsea’s failure to qualify for any European competition this term has forced them to sell players.

Havertz can play on both the wings and can also be deployed as a Number 10. Arsenal could do wonders with his quality and experience in the final-third and going forward.
