Arsenal considering a move for Dutch talent Xavi Simmons

Arsenal are considering a move for Dutch midfielder Xavi Simmons in the summer transfer window, as per reports in the French media.

PSV Eindhoven signed the midfielder last summer from Paris Saint-Germain. Simmons had a first season to remember at Holland.

Simmons scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists across all competitions over the 48 apperances. His exploits last season have caught attention of Arsenal.

According to L’Equipe, Simmons is against a return to PSG despite despite the French champions looking to activate a £6m buy-back clause in the deal. Arsenal are among the clubs who are looking to capitalise of the situation.

Jeroen Kapteijns, a journalist from De Telegraaf has hinted a potential connection between Simmons and English football. His decision regarding his representation could bring him closer to a move to the Premier League, specifically to Arsenal.

He said to vis Voetbal Zone :-

“Surely the fact that Xavi chooses an Englishman indicates that he has ears for a departure to the Premier League, it seems to me.

“There, this Darren Dein has great access and especially at Arsenal, given his background. And that’s kind of a sign too. I don’t really think this is all very helpful for PSV to get the deal they want now.”

Simmons is one of the most exciting talents right now and Arsenal would be more than happy to sign him this summer. However, he would only make to the move , if he is guarented enough minutes at the Emirates.

Simmons is aware of the competition for game time at Arsenal and he must be willing to fight for his place before considering a offer from them.
