Arsenal are looking to make an opening offer for Marcos Leonardo from Santos. Though, they are not the only club keen on signing the Brazilian as per the reports. Arsenal have already signed Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Timber permanently. Moreover, David Raya is on a season-long loan from Brentford with an option to buy.

Ahead of January, Arteta and Edu Gaspar are preparing for a visiting offer to Santos for Marcos Leonardo. Arsenal sent squads to watch him back in summer alongside Tottenham, Manchester United, Chelsea and West Ham. Owing to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal are “keeping an eye” on Leonardo and may consider a move in January. The Gunners can be “prepared” to submit an offer for the 20-year old worth of £17m. Leonardo still has three years left on his contract with Santos. But with his top notch display, he appears to have attracted the interest from the North London.

According to a talent scout Jacek Kulig, Leonardo is Santos’ “hero” at the Urbano Stadium. He has shown that how lethal he can be in the final third over the course of his career. Besides 52 goals, the Brazilian has also assisted 11 times in 156 appearances since his professional career start. The striker has recorded a total of 44 shots so far this season which is more than any other player at the club as per FBRef. .

Arsenal are also looking for a deal with Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez along with Hotspurs and Chelsea. Leonardo could prove to be the suitable alternate if the deal collapses.
