Arsenal FC 1-0 Burnley FC: Post Match Analysis

Arsenal faced Burnley away during the recent Gameweek of the Premier League. Arsenal before the game had only won 1 out of the 4 games they played. While Burnley still was let to win a game this season. Because this game was on their home turf, Burnley fans surely felt this was the game they would win. Arsenal knew coming to this game there would a lot more physicality they would need to face. When compared to the previous matches in the League which Arsenal have lost or won in.

Arsenal just had come off a 1-0 victory at home against Norwich. While the main talking point from that game was the utilisation of the new transfers in the starting 11. It was also the need for the team to be more clinical in front of goals after creating spaces and chances.

A substitute that made quite the impact was Maxwell Cornet. During the 33 minutes of playing time, the player won 3 out of the 5 ground duels while having a pass accuracy of 74%. While on the ball, he helped give another variation to their form of attack for the team.

How Did Arsenal Make Sure To Get The Victory For This Match?

Arsenal during the game played in a new formation which was 4-3-3 against Burnley. While the noticeable difference between the Norwich was that Emile Smith Rowe was a part of the starting 11 while Lokonga was on the bench. During the game, Thomas Partey played as the deep creating midfielder and acting as the third centre back. While Martin Ødegaard and Emile Smith Rowe played as the Central Attacking Midfielders who even dropped deep.

During the game against Burnley, the part of the team that stole the show was the Arsenal Defensive line. Gabriel Magalhães and Takehiro Tomiyasu each had one of their best performances for each of them as a player. Gabriel had a pass accuracy of 83% during the game while Tomiyasu completed 3 long balls during the game.
