Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing winger Samuel Chukwueze this summer as Villarreal president gives update on his current situation.
Manager Mikel Arteta is keen bringing reinforcement in the summer to bolster his squad ahead of the season. Arsenal will again look to challenge for the Premier League this season.
West Ham star Declan Rice is on top of the transfer list and as per current reports, Arsenal are closing in on a deal for the midfielder.
But, Chukwueze will be next on the list for club chief Edu Gasper and Co. The Nigerian has been under Arsenal’s radar, as per reports.
According to Calciomercato, Arsenal are ready to compete for Chukwueze’s signature alongside Real Madrid, Liverpool and AC Milan. The 24-year-old has just only 12 months on his current contract with Villarreal.
Gunner will participate in Champions League next season and they need to add more strength and depth to their squad. Hence, Chukwueze will be a perfect signing for Mikel Arteta for the upcoming season.
Villarreal President gives update on Arsenal target
Villarreal President Fernando Roig Alfonso gives update on Samuel Chukwueze as well as his other star player Nicolas Jackson. He told Marca:-
“(Jackson) has a clause that at the moment around €40m, and there are other players like Samu (Chukwueze). Jackson is an example that in winter was about to leave and by circumstances did not leave. He has been revalued with his performances and with his goals.
“Jackson has scored super important goals and has been a very important player for us. We do not have any kind of news at the moment (on Real Madrid’s interest in Chukwueze).”
