Arsenal legend Martin Keown praises young Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill for his early prowess in this current Premier League campaign.

According to The Daily Mail, Keown claims that Colwell has got every attribute in his game for becoming a world-class defender in future. He terms him as a “gem” in his column.

The former Gunner cente-back made such comments about Colwill ahead of England’s clash against Ukraine on Saturday. The Three Lions are placed in Group C for Euro 2024 qualifiers round.

For the first time Colwill has been called for senior international duty. The 21-year-old has been in terrific form for Chelsea in this current campaign.

He has started in all four matches for Blues and manager Mauricio Pochettino is already quite impressed with his performance so far. Martin praised Colwill and said :-

“Colwill, the youngest of this quartet at 20, has been fast-tracked into the fold but has got everything in his locker except experience.

“He is the most exciting of the four, though we need to be cautious given he has only made 21 Premier League appearances.”

Although at this young age, Colwill has already started showing early signs of maturity in his game. He has all the attributes to develop into one of the best centre-backs around the world.

Blue’s idea of sending him to Brighton on a loan move last campaign was a masterstroke. Under Roberto De Zerbi, Colwell has developed his game to another level.

Former Arsenal legend backs Colwill to succeed in future as Chelsea are looking to regain their momentum in this campaign.
