Arsenal targets Romeo Lavia as Romano shares update

Arsenal are reportedly turned attention to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia in the summer transfer window.

Gunners are very active in this transfer window, as they have already tabled bids for both Declan Rice and Kai Havertz. Lavia is another talented player, they’ll soon make a move.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano have now reported that Arsenal are keen on signing Romeo Lavia this summer. He also claimed that Chelsea and Manchester United are also in the race for the midfielder.

Romano added that talks have already taken place and Arsenal have strong and clear interest on Lavia this summer. He wrote on Twitter:-

“Arsenal have concrete and strong interest in Romeo Lavia. Relationship is excellent with his camp — talks already took place.

“Timing will be crucial as Chelsea remain interested. Man United appreciate Lavia but still not advancing. City buy back clause only valid 2024.”

Arsenal director Edu Gasper is busy man right now. He is working extremely hard to strengthen the team, specially the midfield. Rice is already on their list and now, they’re in the race for Lavia.

According to The Guardian, Lavia is reportedly valued at £45 million. Gunners also have a advantage in this deal, as Lavia’s agent also represents Bukayo Saka, who recently signed a new contract. Name of the agent is Emeka Obasi.

Lavia made 29 apperances last season, but the midfielder have only scored once in those outings. Hence the 19-year-old would be a fantastic signing for Arsenal this summer.
