Manager Mikel Arteta might opt to play Emile Smith Rowe in starting line-up against Brentford in League Cup Third round draw.

The 23-year-old only managed to play 24 minutes in this current campaign, after making zero start for the north-london club last term. However, Arteta hinted that he might start him on Thursday night.

Speaking in Pre-match press conference, the Spaniard will look change his playing eleven against Brentford. Arsenal will participate in four competitions this season and hence Smith Rowe might get his due opportunity in this current campaign.

The Spaniard shared his thought on Smith Rowe and said :-

“Many reasons why he hasn’t started.

“He was out for a long, long time. Then he had a sequence of matches he played with the national team, then he came in and didn’t participate. And in the last two matches, he has played more minutes.

“(Against Brentford), he will have a big chance to show that he can play at this level and be an important player for us.

“And here he is incredibly popular. We all love him. It’s no different as to what the people feel and what we feel about him.

“No. He needs to be (a huge part of Arsenal). A player of that talent who has come through our system.”

With few injured players, Smith-Rowe have a perfect opportunity to start against Brentford tomorrow. This will be a rare chance for the midfielder ahead of a busy schedule for Gunners.
