BCB appoints Sridharan Sriram as technical Consultant for World Cup

Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) appoints Sridharan Sriram as technical consultant for the upcoming World Cup. Earlier, Sridharan Sriram was designated as an assistant coach for Lucknow Super Giants(LSG) for Ipl 2024.

BCB APPOINTS SRIDHARAN SRIRAM FOR WORLD CUP

The appointment of Sridharan Sriram by BCB comes as a tactical decision. Notably, his expertness will help Bangladesh to fine their performance in the World Cup 2023. In addition, Sridharan Sriram has previously served Bangladesh as an assistant coach. He was the assistant coach for the Bangladesh Cricket Board in 2022 for the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup. So, he is now being reappointed for the same position by BCB.

As per reports, Bangladesh’s skipper Shakib Al Hasan is one of the main reasons behind the appointment of Sridharan Sriram. Sridharan Sriram had the support and admiration of Shakib Al Hasan.

The Director of the Bangladesh squad, Khaled Mahmud, confirmed Sridharan Sriram’s reappointment as a technical consultant for the team. He was quoted by Cricbuzz saying

“Yes, we have appointed him (Sriram) as a technical consultant for the forthcoming World Cup” 

SRIDHARAN’S CAREER AND COACHING ASSISTANCE

Sridharan Sriram, during his career, he played for Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Goa, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh in domestic cricket. Further, he also played eight ODIs for India.

He has also served Australia for six years, starting in 2016. His assistance has been helpful for the Australian cricket team to win the T20 World Cup. Moreover, his presence also helped the Australian cricket team to win Ashes between 2021-2022. In addition, has also been the assistant coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore franchise. He was assisting the RCB squad with batting and spin-bowling. Moreover, Sridharan Sriram will be an assistant coach for LSG in Ipl 2024. The announcement of his appointment by LSG was on Saturday, September 9.
