Bernardo Silva could be on his way out of Manchester City before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

According to Manchester Evening News, Man City are ready to let Silva leave the club, but for the right price.

How did Silva fair at Man City

Silva joined Man City in 2017 for a fee of around £43.5 million. He played 204 games, winning three Premier League titles, four League Cups, and one FA Cup along the way.

By the end of the 2017-18 season, Silva made 53 appearances for City in all competitions – the most of any City player that season. His consistent and influential performances helped City to a record 100 points in the Premier League and the EFL Cup.

Silva played 51 times during the 2018-19 season, scoring 13 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions for City. Moreover, he was a significant part of City becoming the first men’s team in England to win a domestic treble. Silva was named Manchester City’s Player of the Year in 2019, and was part of the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. Afterwards, he was listed among the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon Do’r.

In the 2019-20 season, Silva was accused of being racist towards teammate Benjamin Mendy in a tweet. The tweet likened Mendy’s appearance to that of a dark-skinned advertising mascot. Silva was banned for one match and fined £50,000 for the tweet. In October 2019, the Portugal international was nominated as one among the 30 candidates for the Ballon Do’r.

Silva can play as an attacking midfielder or a winger on either side. His versatility and experience will be a valued addition to any squad. The question remains whether Silva still has a role to play at City, or has his time in England come to an end?

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan have been linked with signing the 27-year-old. But, there have been no official offers yet.
