Bernardo Silva to stay at Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Bernard Silva is set to remain at the Etihad despite multiple speculations about his transfer. Pep Guardiola considers him an integral part of his squad. Moreover, according to him, Silva is “untouchable” in the transfer market this season. A transfer to Barcelona was very close to completion in the 2019 season. However, Pep Guardiola convinced the player to remain at the Etihad. Barcelona have had a long-time interest in acquiring the player. Barcelona wants to find a suitable replacement for Frenkie De Jong who is entangled in a battle between Barcelona and Manchester United. Bernardo Silva is the player most similar to De Jong and Xavi has had his eyes set on the player for a long time. Jorge Mendes, Bernardo Silva’s agent has offered him to Barcelona this summer. However, Manchester City are not willing to let the player go unless an offer of €80 million comes through for the Portuguese.
