Anfield legend Jamie Carragher claims that departed Liverpool duo Fabinho and Jordan Henderson looked finished last season.

Both the midfielders will go down as Liverpool legends for their heroics in recent years. Supporters with heavy heart have to accept their departure this summer.

However, away from their peak form, Reds got good price for both of them. Henderson joined Al-Ettifaq for £12m and Fabinho joined Al-Ittihad for £40 million.

Speaking on the Overlap, Carragher was taking about different transfer deals and he claims that selling both Fabinho and Jordan this summer was a right decision by Reds. The duo looked completely exhausted last campaign.

Carragher gave his verdict on the duo :-

“Last summer Liverpool didn’t buy a midfield player, and everyone is another 12 months older. It was right for James Milner, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Keita to go. You get massive money from Saudi Arabia for Fabinho and Jordan Henderson who looked like their legs had completely gone last season.

It’s always brings deep sorrows for supporters when club legends leave the club. However, something these changes bring new bundle of joy because Liverpool are now planning a complete revamp this campaign.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai was bought down this summer to give their midfield a new look in this upcoming season. Southampton man Romeo Lavia is under their radar for a long time now, however their recent bid got rejected and the negotiations continues.

Liverpool still needs to bring a new No 6 as they need to carefully replace every departed player this summer. Although frankly speaking, you cant replace players like Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in recent times.
