Chelsea are said to beat Juventus for the transfer of RB Leipzig‘s defender Josko Gvardiol in the transfer window. Juventus are also said to be interested in signing the 20- year old defender. The 20- year old has been establishing himself as one of the finest football players in the world. Gvardiol have garnered interest from other clubs as well after his performance at the German club. Both Chelsea and Juventus are interested in the player. But it’s Chelsea who is reportedly leading in the race to sign the RB Leipzig’s defender.

If Chelsea manages to sign the Croatia international, it will them immensely to strengthen their defense line. The player could be a replacement for Chelsea’s long-time player Thiago Silva. It might also be an upgrade for Kalidou Koulibaly, who have not been all that impressive since joining the Blues. While Chelsea’s player Wesley Fofana still battles with a lot of injuries. Both these players were brought in after the departure of both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers.

Juventus could also be a good option for the defender. The Italian team will be looking to restructure their defense line-up after the departure of Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs de Ligt. Those players were like two strong walls of the Juventus defense. That being said, the Croatia international have the potential to be one of the best defenders in Europe.
