Chelsea in pole position to sign Moises Caicedo- Fabrizio Romano

Pochettino

According to the transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are in pole position to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Blues are determined to sign the Equadorian this summer. As per reports, Caicedo is eager to join the club and Chelsea have made him their main target.

Speaking to CaughtOffSide, Romano claimed that Chelsea will work on Caicedo’s deal, once they’re over with outgoing transfers. He said :-

“Once everything settles down [with outgoings], then Chelsea will work on the [Moises] Caicedo deal. There are no changes to previous updates. Chelsea want Caicedo, they’re gonna push to sign him.

“I can’t predict the future but the player is only negotiating with Chelsea at this stage. Everything is calm with the Brighton player at the moment. No need for panic.”

Caicedo has shown great maturity in the field at very early stage. He is still in his development phase of his career, but he has already established himself as one of the most sought-after-midfielders in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old will be an like-to-like replacement for N’golo Kante, who has left the club on a free transfer. He has all the attributes to become a similar holding midfielder as the French international.

Chelsea are yet to open negotiations with the Seagulls over a transfer, but they’ll are likely to step-up their interest once they’re done with the outgoing players. As per reports, Blues could offer a few of £80 million to land Caicedo this summer.

Manchester United are also interested in Caicedo and Arsenal are finding alternatives, if they’re unable to sign Declan Rice soon. Chelsea needs to buckle up to avoid a bidding war for the player.
