Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson claims Chelsea made a mistake by allowing Romelu Lukaku to leave the club this summer.

The Belgian International joined Italian outfit AS Roma on a loan move in the summer transfer window. Under guidance of Jose Mourinho, Lukaku is getting back to his very best.

Lukaku has already scored three goals for his new club across all competitions this season. He’ll be all charged up to change his fortune as his last season with Blues went very low.

Meanwhile, speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast, Chelsea still haven’t found the back of the net this month. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is under lot of scrutiny as Blues are not at their very best.

Chelsea are currently in derth of a striker you can just score goals for them. Hence, Wilson is stunned with their decision to let Lukaku leave this summer.

Speaking on the matter, Wilson said :-

“I think they still have Lukaku on their books. It is incredible, because he is an out and out goalscorer.

“The kind of striker I’m talking about, he’s not going to play pretty football but he will bully defenders and stick the ball in the back of the net and ultimately that’s what they are missing. I think they have scored five goals this season I saw a stat and I think Haaland has outscored them. That’s unlike Chelsea, especially with the money that they have spent.”

Chelsea will have a huge task in their hands as they have spend huge in last two transfer windows. Owner Todd Boehly will be under lot pressure as under his new ownership, the club is not functioning at its best.
