Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino hails Tottenham Hotspurs’ skipper Heung Min Son as a “great player”. Pochettino has worked with Son during his time with the COYS. He was speaking to The Standard ahead of clash with Tottenham on Monday. It will be an emotional moment for the Argentinian manager as he will return to his former home club since his sacking back in 2019. However, it will be interesting to see what reception will fans give him. Despite everything, Pochettino shows his love for the club and also describes Son as fantastic under Ange Postecoglou. He said,

“He’s a great professional, a great player, I’m so happy he’s the captain.

People grow, people become more mature, and they are top of the table so he must be doing something good as captain.

When people you like and love are happy and doing well, that increases your personal happiness.

We are this type of people that love and enjoy when people we know and you are part of his life are doing well.”

It was Pochettino who brought South Korean to London in 2015 when he bought him from Bayer Leverkusen. Since then, he is enjoying a fantastic spell with Tottenham in the Premier League. Despite numerous managerial transitions, the Korean has maintained his briliant display. Moreover, the 31-year old is aging like a fine wine under Ange. He has manged to net 10 goals so far this season. Only Erling Haaland has scored more goals than him. Besides this, it is also said that the departure of Harry Kane has helped him becoming a more central figure at the club as well as on field.
