Chelsea are looking to make a potential summer move for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies. Real Madrid, Man City and now Chelsea are linked with a transfer for Davies. This is according to journalist Simon Phillips. However, the journalist also says there is “no chance” for the Blues to get him in January. The Canadian is bound at the Allianz Arena until 2025. This is a bit of problem for German giants as they don’t want to let him go for free. As a result, he could be made available for sale in the next summert transfer window Though, Chelsea will not be resting as Madrid are also keen on securing the left-back. Moreover, if Davies will be on to make a choice, he will surely go for the Spanish giants.
Nevertheless, if a player of his quality is on the market, it will definitely create some heat in the market. Chelsea are loaded at their left-back at present though. The likes of Chilwell, Ian Maatsen, Marc Cucurella are the options for Mauricio Pochettino. Moreover, Levi Coilwll is also seen at times covering the left flank. If the Blues are to make a move, they must unload some players from the squad. Moreover, Maatsen is linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in the recent weeks.
If Alphonso hints to have any inclination for the East London club, they must offload some more options as well. Though, it might be harsh for players like Cucurella, who has been in a good form recently. But, the quality Davies’ possess is worth taking a gamble. He is having a dribble rate of 2.7 per game so far this season. It is the third-highest in the Bundesliga as well.
