Chelsea is on the verge of securing its fifth summer signing with a groundbreaking offer, surpassing the exit clause in the contract of a shining star from a London rival.

Under the experienced guidance of Mauricio Pochettino, who has made a remarkable return to the Premier League at Stamford Bridge after a year on the sidelines and his departure from PSG. The Blues are optimistic about an improved season.

The former Tottenham manager, in collaboration with co-owner Todd Boehly, has swiftly eliminated some of Chelsea’s deadwood. Leading to sales worth nearly €250m (£216m) with 14 players departing this summer.

In exchange, Pochettino has already made four signings. Including Christopher Nkunku, whose agreement was done before the Argentine’s arrival.

However, with the departures of players like Matteo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Mason Mount. And so Chelsea now faces the task of filling a few holes in their midfield.

According to reports from France, the Blues are close to securing the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

The Crystal Palace star had a standout 2022/23 season, having moved from Reading in July 2021. Notably, Olise contributed to 13 goals, with 11 assists, in 37 Premier League appearances.

Chelsea closing in on Michael Olise Signing

Chelsea has reportedly submitted an offer of £39m to bring Olise to Stamford Bridge. While the release clause stands at £35m, leaving Crystal Palace unable to prevent the move.

Despite the Eagles’ efforts to keep the France U21 international by offering him a new deal, which would eliminate the exit clause. Olise seems keen on joining Chelsea, having been “seduced by the project” under Pochettino’s leadership.

During Pochettino’s previous tenure in the Premier League with Tottenham, he skillfully nurtured the early career of another young talent, Dele Alli.

Now, Pochettino aims to unlock Olise’s full potential at Chelsea and elevate the Blues in the league standings once again.

Boehly is no stranger to surpassing release clauses to secure star players. A strategy that enables Chelsea to negotiate more favorable payment terms and minimizes the risk of losing to their competitors. Olise is on road to becoming Chelsea’s fifth signing of the summer.

Apart from Nkunku, Pochettino has also secured the services of three promising wingers in Nicolas Jackson, Angelo, and Diego Moreira, with Jackson expected to make an immediate impact in the first team.
