Chelsea will soon announce the signing of RB Leipzig player Christopher Nkunku amid Liverpool’s interest for months. According to RB Live, the London side will soon confirm the arrival of the French player. The Athletic had reported last month that the Blues have agreed to a deal with the Bundesliga side for the 24- year player. Chelsea have spent hundreds and millions on strikers like Morata, and Timo Werner but none of them have worked out so far. There’s growing confidence among the fans that the signing of Nkunku will put an end to their striker drought.
Liverpool to miss out on Chelsea in the signing of Nkunku
Fussball Transfer had previously reported that Liverpool had been following the player closely with the intent to sign him. It looks very unlikely now as the 24- year is set to join the Blues. Liverpool would be fuming as they miss out on the signing of the brilliant player as he would have been a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s style of playing. However, the Reds fans can take solace in the fact that this signing too can fall into Chelsea’s curse of failed strikers.
Nkunku to be in an amazing form
This season alone Nkunku have scored 17 goals in all competition. The former PSG player is looking to beat his own personal record of 35 goals in all competitions in the last campaign. Nkunku’s number of goals and goal contributions had been outrageous last season, with the 24- year old scoring a total of 52 goals since the start of the last campaign. Only Robert Lewandowski can beat this record in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Yet this all might come to an end in the coming campaign as the French player can fail to impress after arriving for the Blues like many others before.
