Chelsea’s new signing claims Pochettino played a key role in his transfer

Chelsea’s new signing Lesley Ugochukwu claims manager Mauricio Pochettino played an important role in his transfer this summer.

The youngster joined Blues this summer from French outfit Rennes for £27 million. Chelsea’s statement revealed that Ugochukwu signed a seven-year-contract, including a option to extend one year more.

However, Chelsea have started their campaign poorly as the they’ve just won one match in last six fixtures. Pochettino will under huge pressure currently to his team’s disastrous start this season.

Ugochukwu is all excited to start his new life at London this season. The 19-year-old stated that the Argentine gaffer played an important role in his decision to join the club this summer.

Speaking Sam White, the youngster said :-

“When I heard that Chelsea were interested in me I didn’t ask myself any questions.

“I thought ‘it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world’ so I had to go there.

“Every player wants to be in the best team with the best coach and Pochettino is part of that.

“In one of my first starts in the French league was against Pochettino [at Paris Saint-Germain] so when I came to the US he told me that I was one of the guys who made him love the league.”

Meanwhile discussing about his contract, he said :-

“For now I’m just looking in the first year of the contract.

“I’m just looking at that to achieve good things, great things with the team and then after we’ll speak about where we’ll go.”
