England clinched a series win in Pakistan. England aced in all departments in the series decider. The last match of the series was supposed to live up to its hype. But Pakistan did not turn up during the series decider.
England’s Performance with Bat
England scored 209 for 6 batting first. Malan was the star with bat. He scored an unbeaten 78 off just 47 balls. He was so pleasing to the eye and played some exquisite strokes. Ben Duckett played another crucial cameo of 30 of 19 balls.
Harry Brook later joined Malan. The teen sensation displayed a wide range of strokes. He justified why he is rated highly in the domestic circuit. He is a typical modern-day T20 Batsman showing pyrotechnic hitting abilities. He scored 46* off just 29 deliveries.
Pakistan bowlers had no answer to the assault by England. Each went for plenty of runs except Rauf. When the run rate was over 10, Rauf went for just 24 runs in his 4 overs. He is surely going to play a crucial role in the upcoming World Cup.
England started brilliantly with the ball. Woakes, on his return picked up 3 wickets for 26 runs in his 4 overs. He took the key wicket of Babar Azam and dented the hopes of Pakistan. He was well supported by Topley, Willey, and Rashid. Rashid was again economical just going for 25 runs. Shan Masood was the top scorer for Pakistan with a half-century. He scored 56 runs off 43 balls at a strike rate of 130.
England is getting into the groove before the big world cup. Even when key players were missing, they comfortably beat the strong Pakistan side. With senior players returning to the side, England would be a real force to reckon with in the World Cup.
