Darwin Nunez will score 20 goals this season, claims pundit

Darwin Nunez

Pundit Danny Murphy suggests Liverpool attacker Darwin Nunez will score atleast 20 goals in this current campaign, if he starts regularly for Reds.

The Uruguayan international has been in topnotch form this season, but Jurgen Klopp hasn’t opted to go with him regularly. Nunez has started only on just three occasions this term.

Murphy urged Klopp start him regularly after the international break. Nunez has got huge potential under his belt as he is very lethal in front of goal.

Murphy backs Nunez and his goal scoring prowess

Pundit Danny Murphy backs Nunez and claims that the Uruguayan can easily 20 goals this season. Reds signed him from Benfica FC last summer for a fee of £85 million.

Many in the footballing world criticised him for his performance in his debut campaign for Liverpool, however his numbers are not that bad. Darwin Nunez scored 15 goals and provided 4 assists in all competitions, which is quite decent.

However, Nunez missed 20 clear chances in the Premier League last season. But in this campaign, he has been very careful in front of goal.

Murphy praised the 24-year-old and backs him to score more goals in this current campaign. He also urged Jurgen Klopp to use to him more regularly.

While speaking with talkSPORT, Murphy said:-

“I really like what I see. I’ve been calling for a while now to give him a really good run of games because any young striker who’s trying to build his confidence and his standing at a football club needs a good run of games.

“He will score goals, he must be a nightmare to play against. If he plays all the time, would he get you 20 goals? I think he will. I think he looks capable, he’s quick, good in the air, game, huge.”
