David O’Leary suggests William Saliba can be ‘very, very special’ for Arsenal in the future. Arsenal clearly felt his void last season when they bottled the Premier League title. David says that the centre-back is a special talent and a Rolls-Royce in the team. O’Leary was speaking to The Telegraph as he outlined how much the Gunners missed the Frenchman during the end of last season. saliba has been a fan favorite even before making his Arsenal debut. Moreover, it is remarkable that Saliba made his debut just last season. Since then, he is a key figure in the squad.

David O’Leary has given Saliba his backing as he told The Telegraph,

He’s quick, calm, reads the game well, good in the air and he’s strong. He’s a good passer of the ball and can step out. The big quality is that extra gear to get the ball. Where other defenders might be steaming across to kick it out of play, he’s able to get there in time to play it back to the keeper or another defender.”

“I think we have a player who can be very, very special. There’s a good pairing with Gabriel but, to me, he’s the Rolls-Royce that we missed at the most important time last year. He can be up with our very best if he continues the way he is.”

The partnership of Saliba and Gabriel is developing into a solid centre-back duo rapidly. Similar to other Arsenal players, the duo is has also not hit its prime yet. Mikel Arteta will surely make his players from getting carried away like previous season, after such a start to the campaign.
