Journalist David Ornstein gives his verdict on whether Arsenal will go for Napoli star Victor Osimhen in January or not. Arsenal have been linked with Osimhen previously as well. The journalist made the comment during a Question and Answer session in The Athletic. The Nigerian is currently one of the best strikers in whole Europe and the Gunners are well aware of this. Though, Arsenal are not the only club keen on a move for the Naples star. Clubs like Chelsea are also speculating a transfer move for the striker.
Reports claimed that the Gunners are looking on for Osimhen since last September. Moreover, with them aiming to win the Premier League this season, the Nigeria international will be a great boost for their squad. Though, David Ornstein says that Arsenal are not planning to bid for Victor Osimhen in January. Napoli scored their first Scudetto title in 33 years owing to the brilliance of Osimhen. He scored 26 goals and four assists last season in 30 Serie A games. Moreover, the striker netted the ball five times last season in Champions League as well.
However, Arsenal should make a bid for him in the summer of 2024 as Ornstein said. The Italian champions will not be willing to sell their main man in the middle of the season. They will be aiming to win the title again this year and Victor will be a key part of their plans. Moreover, they are also in the UEFA Champions League this season. He has scored six goals so far in this season in seven Serie A matches. However, there are also some rumours that he is not happy at Napoli. A bid from Arsenal can bring him to the Emirates in summer 2024.
