New signing Declan Rice describes Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard as ‘wizard’ after playing with him in the MLS All-Star game yesterday.

Arsenal thrashed Wayne Rooney’s side 5:0 at Washington DC. Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Jorginho, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz scored the goals for Gunners.

Both Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard came on in the second-half of the game. However the duo played well together in the little time they were on the pitch.

Arsenal supporters are really excited to see how their new star-studded midfield will look in the opening day of the new Premier League season. Manager Mikel Arteta will have lot of options at his disposal at the middle of the pitch.

With Martin Odegaard, new signings Declan Rice and Kai Havertz will join the mix at the Emirates. Gunners also have Jorginho, Emile Smith-Rowe, Fabio Vieria and Mohamed Elneny in their midfield ranks.

Any one of the them can their jobs on different occasions next season, but two important pillars of their midfield will be Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard. Arsenal fans got glimpses of the two in the pitch and it was great to watch them play together.

Rice even posted a picture on Instagram alongside Odeegaard after the game. The former West Ham midfielder described the Norwegian as ‘wizard’.

Odegaard had a spectacular campaign last time out. The 24-year-old scored 15 goals and 5 assists as Arsenal came very close to winning the Premier League Title last term.

If Odegaard maintain his good reign of form next season with his new star team-mate Declan Rice, Arsenal could do well all the way.
