Enzo Fernandez have finally sealed the deal with Chelsea

Chelsea have now confirmed the transfer of their priority signing Enzo Fernandez. The Blues have been linked with Enzo Fernandez since the beginning of the transfer window. Chelsea have signed the player on a record-breaking deal. They have exceeded the price Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish. Manchester City had paid £100m for Jack Grealish. Therefore Enzo Fernandez is now one of the most expensive players in the Premier League. The player’s former club River Plate received £ 26.75 million after the signing. Furthermore, the player completed the £107m switch to the Premier League side after long talks between the clubs. Chelsea surpassed the amount they paid for Romelu Lukaku. This signing of Enzo Fernandez have set a new record in the Premier League.

Chelsea have added a sell-on clause in the Enzo Fernandez deal

The player’s value had increased since the World Cup. He was even named the Young Player of the Tournament. Enzo Fernandez played an important part in Argentina’s win in the World Cup. Benfica released an official statement about the move. They released a statement saying,

“In a statement sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM) at 12:13am this Wednesday, February 1, Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD informed that it reached an agreement with Chelsea FC for the sale of all the rights of the player Enzo Fernandez, for a sum of 121 million euros,

“Benfica SAD also explained that Chelsea FC will have the right to retain the solidarity mechanism of 3.78 per cent for subsequent distribution to the clubs that participated in the player’s training.”

They further added,

“Additionally, Benfica SAD will incur charges for intermediation services of 6.56 per cent of the sale value deducted from the solidarity amount and will also have to deliver to River Plate the amount corresponding to 25 per cent of the transfer value deducted from the solidarity amounts and intermediation services.”

Enzo Fernandez was in Chelsea’s priority list since the World Cup. Chelsea were the biggest spender this January transfer window. Before signing Fernandez, they had signed Mykhaylo Mudryk and Benoit Badiashile. They were some of the big-money players. They also signed Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on a loan deal.
