Fabrizio Romano provides latest information regarding the links of Palhinha with Liverpool

Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports the latest update for the links between Liverpool and Joao Palhinha. There have been some previous ties as well between Liverpool and Fulham for Palhinha. However, nothing concrete landed but the Portuguese was signed by Bayern on the deadline day this summer. Though, the deal collapsed in the last minute due to some paperwork failure. Consequently, Palhinha returned to England.

Now, Romano has been talking about the rumours between the Reds and Palhinha on Kick. He said,

“For Palhinha at the moment Liverpool have not activated any concrete contact.”

He further continues,

“Palhinha is in the list of many clubs. He could be very expensive – the price-tag going to be crucial. If Fulham believe they will let him go only for 75 or 80 million Euros it’s going to be difficult for Arsenal, Bayern, all these clubs.

If they can accept a different kind of fee, I think there’s a very good chance for Palhinha to leave in the January transfer window. His priority remains to leave in January.”

This might be a little bit disappointing for the fans of Anfield who wanted a move for him in January. Nevertheless, Romano has not completely denied the chances of a deal progressing in future. Nor does he claim that other clubs are looking to go for him yet. If Liverpool are to make an offer, they must be looking at the price tag of €58m by Fulham. Considering such a high valuation, the Merseyside club may not be actively interested for Palhinha. Moreover, if they were interested, a potential contract might have been on the table now from the club considering the need of a defensive midfielder they have.
