Frank Lampard reveals he urged Chelsea to sign the £100m superstar but they denied him

Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard claims that he was desperate to add £100m superstar at the club. Lampard reveals he urged the club to sign Jude Bellingham during his first managerial spell at Chelsea. He told the ‘Obi One Podcast’ that he pushed for the club to bring in Jude Bellingham. However the idea was not picked up on by those upstairs at the club at the time. Despite being 20-years of age, Jude Bellingham is tearing it up at Real Madrid. He has established himself as one of the best midfielders on the planet right now.

The Spanish giants Real Madrid signed him for a fee of £100m from Borussia Dortmund this summer. The England international quickly showed why he was a target for all the top clubs in Europe. Moreover, The Blues were also reported to be the one interested in securing the services of Jude. However, real Madrid were clear favourites to land him in. However, the situations might have been doifferent if they heard what Lampard was saying a few years back. Lampard reveals that,

“When I was managing at Chelsea (first time) I was desperate to bring Jude Bellingham in. But I couldn’t get it through upstairs – the idea of paying £20m for someone his age (at the time).”

Despite missing out on Jude Bellingham, the fans at Stamford Bridge will be happy with the options they have in their midfield. Moises Caicedo is looking to have settled his boots in the Chelsea shirt alongside Enzo Fernandez. Gallagher is also performing decently at times and Romeo Lavia will also join the midfield soon. Chelsea have recently won a dramatic game against Tottenham Hostpurs while travelling away.
